These risks <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">include the opaque collection and processing of personal data for non-<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">educational purposes, the use of this data for commercial profling, and a lack <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">of user control, which undermines their rights to privacy and protection from<\/span> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">economic exploitation. This paper aims to address these risks by<\/span> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">developing a practical ethical design guide. The guide is intended to empower<\/span> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">educational institutions to assess and select EdTech platforms that are designed<\/span> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">to proactively protect children\u2019s rights. The guide<\/span> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">was developed through a multi-phase process: a review of academic and gray<\/span> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">literature to identify best practices, systematic categorization of these practices<\/span> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">into ten key areas, and alignment with legal frameworks like Brazil\u2019s General<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Data Protection Law (LGPD) and CONANDA Resolution N\u00b0 245. The<\/span> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">primary result is an ethical design guide composed of 12 actionable practices<\/span> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">for evaluating EdTech platforms.
